Models Own Nail Polish Review & NOTD for Sunday oh and TOES!

Today after much time spent looking at all the colours of Nail Polish on https://www.modelsownit.com/nails/nail-polish.html I decided to go into the Boots in town where they have a stand and pick up a few polishes.

Unfortunately I was a tad dissapointed when I got there as they didnt have most the ones I had been eyeing up online (Pink Punch,Orangeade, Orange Sherbet and Orange Sorbet) but after seeing it was 3 for 2 on all products I perked up and after much pondering picked three polishes :)

I got:

Blue Moon: A gorgeous shimmery silver/blue, its like Trixie by Zoya but blue so it looks amazing!

Snow White: Is a pure white creme, this one isnt for me but im sure ill get to try it :P

Fuzzy Peach: Is a pastely orangey apricot!

Tonight I applied 'Fuzzy Peach' and here is the results:

Please excuse the untidyness of it...my friend and I painted our nails in the cinema bar while we waited for our film so we had nothing to tidy it up with :P

Now onto the Pro's and Con's:

PRO'S:

  • 2 coats is all it took to get it completely opaque.

  • It looks great on my pale corpse skin and my friends lovely dark skintone
  • Its a really glossy polish which I love.
  • Its quick drying.
  • Its a reasonable price especially with the current Boots 3 for 2 promotion across all make up ranges.

CONS:

  • Only con is not with the actual polish itself but with the small selection available at Boots

So would I recommend it?: Yes I would :) The colour range (online) is fabulous and its a great quality polish. Much better than Barry M, Collection 2000 etc. In my opinion they are definately worth £5.00 each. I cant wait to try more!

When I got home I did of course Konad it!

I used Konad black special stamping polish and the floral design on plate M73 and here is how it turned out:

EDIT: Decided id have matching toenails:

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend :)

REVIEW & NOTD: RIO Nail Art Foiling Kit

So earlier tonight I got together with the girlies and we tested out the RIO Foiling kit I got from Amazon for £24.98. We had all never tried foiling before and were quite impressed with the results.

The process is quite time consuming (around 1 hour) but if you are a nail art addict like me you wont mind spending this amount of time on your nails :P

If you want to see details of the process click **here**

Id rate the kit as follows:

Difficulty: 3/5 Not bad, the instructions are straightforward

Price: 3/5 Its a good price for starting up a new hobby

Variety of Designs: 2/5 Some of them are a bit odd (in my opinion) id say I only really like half of them.....

Durability: 1/5 Hmmm id say it wont look good for more than 2 days as but this is okay with me as I do my nails every 2 days or so as I get bored easily :P

Would I recommend: Yes and No :P Yes if you are a nail art fanatic looking for new things to try but if you are just starting out id say Konad is far more impressive and quicker to do :)

I chose the simple gold foil which is AMAZING pictures cannot capture just how shiny they are.......you definately cannot get this affect with any nail polish :)

Its not perfect as you can see........there are a few lumps but hey its my first time and I took this before I went round the edges with a cotton bud.

Here it is after I used Konad to add polka dots:

Looks much better now huh?

So thats my review! Sorry if there are any typo's/gramatical errors........I did this really quickly and im very VERY tired :P

Tommorow I am going into the Boots in town to have a look at the Models Own Nail Polish range as I have been hearing lots of good things about them and there are some gorgeous colours id like to see in real life :)

I think ill pick up something out of character like a bright orange!

Hope you are all having a great weekend so far.

Thursdays NOTD & Sleek Polish mini review

Used my new Sleek Polish in 'Liliac' which was pretty decent :) it did go on a bit thick and lumpy but after two coats it was looking alot better so id say the formulation is not too bad and I *would* recommend Sleek Polishes if you are looking for a relatively cheap polish (£3.50) only problem is there doesnt seem to be much of a colour selection.

For stamping I used Konad plate M79 which is my newest one......I LOVE IT!

I just know im going to be using the polka dots lots and lots! I love how it turned out....so simple yet super cute :)

Hope you all have a great weekend (although im sure ill post again before monday!)

Summer Dress Shopping Haul: Warning! Picture heavy! :) oh and Twitter!

First up I needed a plain black vest top as all the ones I have seemed to have dissapeared! I got this one for £10.00 from Debenhams :) I love the little lace area at the top as it covers more of my chest!

I got the vest mainly as I needed something to go under this Max C London poodle dress as it is obscenely low cut!

I got this black dress from TK Maxx. The minute I saw the little birds on it I knew it had to be mine!

Navy bunny print dress with lace trim also from TK MAXX

Smiling cherries Vest/Mini dress also from TK Maxx

Bit of a plain one now......floral dress/tunic from Dunnes stores

Yumi Russian Doll Print Dress (looks WAAAAY better on!)

My friend got me this one....it was only £5.00 and from *whispers* Primark its not great quality but I do like it as I heart horses :)

Skull top or mini dress from Ebay

Skull Maxi dress from Ebay (1st Maxi dress I wont have to take up 5 inches!)

You can tell I completely LOVE prints! :)

Now off to the Gym and tonight must apply the Mega Tek Treatment!

Oh I almost forgot to say....on Monday I set up a twitter and linked it to my blog so if you follow me here and have a twitter account please follow and drop me a message to let me know who you are and ill follow you back

NOTD: Konadicure using China Glaze QT

This is actually Sundays nail of the day :)

I used China Glaze QT which is a lovely pink from the holographic polishes collection. A floral pattern from Konad image plate M73 and Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Nail Polish in 'Zodiac' as a stamping polish (which btw turned out really well....much better than the actual Konad silver stamping polish)

Urgh as always you can barely see it....its much nicer in real life I swear :P

You can *almost* see the detail in this one

what a lovely sunny day it is again today, Hope you all get the chance to go out and enjoy it while it lasts :)

First Ever Outfit of the Day :) & Shopping

This is what I wore on Saturday when I went shopping and to the cinema :)

I had never worn the shoes before despite having them for years and found after 45 mins walking in them I was ready to chop my feet off :P

Think this would look better with a belt, would make me look less fat!

Love this dress....don't love the position of the print on my bust! :P

Urgh why didn't I notice that loose thread BEFORE I took the picture! Love the little deers....LOVE Irregular Choice :)

Face....nothing fancy but I did get my contacts in....yay :)

oh and I used this bag (Vivienne Westwood Chancery Heart bag) but didnt think to take a picture holding it:

  • Victorian Ladies with umbrellas dress from Darimeya.co.uk
  • Black Leggings from Dunnes store
  • Black Diplo Deer Wedges from Irregular Choice
  • Red skull and flower cardigan by Laura Lees Label (only just seen in pic 2)
  • Red and gold Alice in Wonderland hairband by Moi (only just seen in pic 4)
  • Red Vivienne Westwood Chancery Heart Bag from hervia.com
  • Narwhal necklace by MaryMaryHandmade on Etsy.com
Ill maybe do more OOTD posts in the future, you will see all I wear is dresses and skirts with prints.....I havent worn trousers/jeans for almost a year now :P
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I did go to the shops soley for a 'browse' (I swear!) but I couldnt resist this little pink nightie with black hearts which was just £5.00 in H&M :) Could also wear it as a top or dress so BARGAIN!
Must remember to do a photo post of all the summer dresses I bought at some point next week :)
Going out to browse the shops again today with a friend so hopefully I wont come back with any new stuff :P
Hope you are all having a great weekend so far.
Mega-Tek treatment tonight!
NOTD: Blue Leopard Print with Hello Kitty Fauxnad faces :)
Friday's NOTD a day late: I used Miss Sporty Nail Polish in Pop Fiction, Konad Stamping polish in Pastel Blue and White, Konad plate (M57) and a fauxnad Hello Kitty plate from ebay.
So hard to photograph! You can hardly see the leopard print and its so hard to fit the whole HK face on some of my nails!
Id like to try this next with a pink polish.
Hope you all have a great weekend :)
OMG! I have to tell you about something disgusting I saw in Superdrug the other day!
This girl was just walking past the brushes, took one off the shelf and shamelessly brushed her hair with it but it back then walked off.....wtf ewwwww use your own bloody brush I dont want your head lice. Seriously who does things like this?!
